This food pantry provides direct hunger relief to families and individuals unable to afford food in this turbulent economic climate. Massive job losses coupled with rising food costs have resulted in sharply increased demand for food support in Northeast Ohio and on a national scale. "Retired seniors and working parents are depending upon our continued dedication to this effort," said Dr. Alicia M. Lytle, Executive Director of Word of Righteousness Family Life Center. "The community should rest assured that we will be there to meet their needs with the cooperation and support of Garfield Heights City Schools."
Dr. Jeanne Sternad, Superintendent of Garfield Heights City Schools shared
these sentiments. "It is important that we continue to leave the
lines of communication open, and maintain the partnership that has
developed" with Word of Righteousness Family Life Center. Sternad
continues, "We at Garfield Heights City Schools will continue to be
committed to the education and welfare of the people of Garfield
Heights." Neither Sternad or Lytle were
available for further comment on the future of the building, but instead have
indicated that a joint press release will be forthcoming when the outcome is
determined.
